Thai Foot Massage
Thai Foot Massage is a massage of the lower legs and feet that involves stretching and massage to open the sen (energy) lines. As well as the hands, a baton is used to stimulate the reflex points on the feet which correspond to the internal organs of the body. Stimulation of these points with Thai Foot Massage promotes general health and well-being.

Our Thai Foot Massage treatments will usually last for thirty minutes and the therapist may spend the last few minutes massaging the hands and sometimes the shoulders too. If at any time you would like the therapist to be firmer or gentler, just ask.

Thai Foot Massage comes originally from China where it has been practised for maybe 5000 years. Thai Foot Massage, as practised everywhere in Thailand today, has developed from Chinese, Japanese, and Korean foot massage.

The ancient Chinese system includes elements of Shiatsu and Reflexology. It is based on the principle that there are nerve endings in the soles of the feet which correspond to all of the organs of the body such as the liver, kidney or spleen. The gentle and repeated massage of these pressure points stimulates and detoxifies the internal organs and improves circulation to the problem area.

Foot massage begins with a foot bath and is done with the fingers, hands and a small wooden dowel dipped in lotion. It involves the sides and soles of the feet as well as the energy lines (sen) of the lower leg.

Traditional Thai Massage and Thai Foot Massage complement each other perfectly. Thai Massage balances the elements of the mind and body, while Thai Foot Massage stimulates the internal organs, giving the client a holistic treatment.

You may arrange a foot massage separately or you may combine some foot massage with a full body massage. Please allow at least 90 minutes for a combined treatment and please wear loose legged trousers or a loosely fitted skirt if you are just having foot massage.
